Management of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital,

The Management of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric hospital, Benin City has today Friday, March 19, 2021, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Mental Health training for nursing students with the Wellspring University.

It is noteworthy that the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric hospital, Benin City is a renowned health care institution with a viable and a duly accredited School of Psychiatric Nursing which has over the years been providing mental health training for Nurses.
On the other hand, the Wellspring University, which is located at Irhirhi/Ogbaneki Layout, Off Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State, is also a well known tertiary institution where its nursing students undergo both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate training in mental health and other nursing areas in consonance with the guidelines of the National Universities Commission (NUC), and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). It is as a result of the foregoing that the two institutions signed the partnership which is however expected to remain in force for a period of two years from the date of its execution.

Present at the signing of the MOU in the Medical Director’s office were: Dr. I.O. Agbonile, Medical Director; Dr. J. Omoaregba, Head, Clinical Services department; Mr. J.E. Agbidi, Head, Nursing Services department; Mr. S.O. Okolo, Principal, School of Psychiatric Nursing (SOPN); Mrs. J.O. Osaghae, Vice-Principal, Academics; Barr. E. Edosuyi; Prof. T.O. Omobuwajo, Vice-Chancellor, Wellspring University; Dr. Patrick Ohrikera, Registrar; Dr. (Mrs.) C.E. Omorogbe, Resource person, and Barr. E. Nwaghodoli, Legal Adviser.

The meeting also featured a photograph session of the heads of both institutions signing the partnership agreement.
