"Blessed be the name of God forever and ever: for wisdom and might are His: And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding". Daniel 2: 20 & 21
My appointment as substantive Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Benin City is an act of God and a mandate of His Excellency, Mr. President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR.
It is a call to serve. It is a call of service to all (known or unknown) who are mentally challenged in general and particularly to the patients/clients of this hospital. Also, it is a call to serve the staff of this hospital with whom we will together discharge our professional responsibilities to all.
I bring on board my personal vision: "To identify, train, develop and harness available human resources to deliver safe and qualitative mental health services". I bring on board my passion and propensity for qualitative real time service delivery in an effective and efficient manner. The mandate of Mr. President has been/is that of Transformation Agenda in all sectors of the economy and services; inclusive of the health sector. I have tapped/connected into this Transformation Agenda in my own resolve to bring about lasting developmental changes in the history of the hospital. In the two (2) years plus (as at the time of writing) that I have been the helms man of this hospital, I have worked towards harmonious working of the unions, coorperative society and hospital management to make for a better and cordial hospital. This has brought a better working environment as we now operate in peace and civility in the conduct of Government business. I have tried to give the due of every staff to them in an equitable and fair way which has improved staff morale translating to better productivity. I have improved on existing infrastructures and structures, thus increasing the proportionate movement of services to the permanent site of the hospital. I have refocused and pursued the path of professional sub-specialties in order to improve the quality of care our patients/clients will receive. As the hospital clocks 50 years in December, 2014, come partner with us to build an enviable service delivery system comparable and competitive for Mental Health Care in the 21st Century and beyond. I remain yours for now. I will continue to pursue collective lofty goals which will add positive value to us all. I entreat you to navigate this site and hopefully find help. You may also find the need to make useful suggestions to us to improving our services. I salute you all who constitute this team I call "SUCCESS" Long live FNPH, Benin City! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!! God bless us all! God bless Nigeria!!
